Vidya Prasarak Mandal, Darwha, Yavatmal (Established in 1971)

In Yavatmal district darwha city and its rural part is legging behind in higher education. As there was no facility of higher education. The youth desiring the higher education had to go to the district places. Most of the parents in this region are economically weak therefore, the youth from such families could not get the opportunity to have higher education in their interesting field. Taking into consideration this fact Late Balasaheb Ghuikhedkar and their friends darely step forward and established a society namely Vidya Prasarak Mandal, Darwha, in 1971. This society initially introduced Mungsaji Maharaj Mahavidyalaya at Darwha with under graduate courses in Arts and Commerce faculties. In 1983 the society introduced Science faculty in its same College at Darwha. In this way it becames esteem institution in this region imparting the higher education with undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Science faculties.

Taking into consideration the needs of the area, it started B.P.Ed. and DT.Ed. College at Darwha. English Medium Primary School, at Darwha,Yavatmal and Ner (Persopant) Nursing Schools at Darwha, Yavatmal Ner (Persopant) and Amravati. The College of Computer and Management Courses at Yavatmal and Amravati. Now it became developing hub of education in this area.
